The Welfare-Industrial Complex Is Booming
What’s driving American job growth? In progressive states, it’s government, social assistance, and healthcare.
Wonder Land: The United States is often described as a ‘nation of immigrants,’ but with Biden’s open river or another Trump wall, the clock on American pre-eminence could stop, as illegal immigration taints the legal path to citizenship.
Drill into the nation’s 3.7% unemployment rate, and you’ll find a growing welfare-industrial complex beneath the seemingly strong labor market. Government, social assistance, and healthcare account for 56% of the 2.8 million net new jobs over the past year, and nearly all gains in blue states such as New York and Illinois.
The tens of thousands of migrants pouring into big cities need to be tended to.
Editor Comments: And what funded the growth in the welfare complex jobs? Free Fed Covid bucks! The percentage of the Federal budget dedicated to debt service associated with Dementia Joe and the New Age Socialists handouts is growing, making it unsustainable. On top of all the free stuff that is largely ineffective and overly expensive, Joe is waging an equally expensive and unwinnable war against Russia by funding the rag-tag Ukraine army. The liberal media did their job early in that conflict by telling us Putin was on his deathbed and the morale of the Ukraine army was sky high.
If Republicans don’t control at least one-half of Congress after the 2024 election, this country is dead.
